Naha Tuna
At MUGEN OKINAWA DINING, we serve Naha tuna bought at Tomari Port, a short walk from the restaurant, at Tomari Iyumachi and Naha Maguro Ichiba.
Naha, Okinawa’s top tuna producer
Naha produces more tuna than anywhere else in Okinawa Prefecture, and tuna is the city’s official fish. “Naha maguro” is tuna that goes to auction at Tomari Port in Naha without ever being frozen.
Tuna from Tomari Iyumachi and Naha Maguro Ichiba

Tomari Port has two fish markets that sell directly to the public: Tomari Iyumachi and Naha Maguro Ichiba. Naha Maguro Ichiba was relocated and rebuilt within the port by the Naha District Fisheries Cooperative. Fish shops line the first floor, and on the second floor you can eat the seafood you bought downstairs.
The type of tuna changes with the season and the sea, so please ask our staff what we have today.
